By Brian Caplicki · Caplicki Home Team · Updated May 11, 2026 · 12 min read
Every major festival, county fair, farmers market, and fireworks night across Orange, Ulster, Sullivan, and Dutchess Counties from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day 2026, organized by month so you can plan the whole summer in one sitting.
Quick Answer
Between Memorial Day weekend (May 23) and Labor Day weekend (September 7), 2026, the Hudson Valley hosts more than 100 festivals, fairs, farmers markets, and concert series across Orange, Ulster, Sullivan, and Dutchess Counties. The biggest draws are the Orange County Fair (July 23 to Aug 2 in Middletown), the Dutchess County Fair (Aug 25 to 30 in Rhinebeck), the New York Renaissance Faire (weekends Aug 15 through Oct 4 in Tuxedo), the Bethel Woods concert season (May through September), and the Hudson Valley Hot-Air Balloon Festival (Sept 4 to 6 in Union Vale).
The Hudson Valley packs a remarkable amount of summer into fifteen weekends. Between the river towns, the Catskills foothills, the Black Dirt farmland, and the small village greens, there is something happening every Friday night, every Saturday morning, and most Sunday afternoons. This guide pulls it all into one place so families, weekenders, and folks new to the area can plan ahead.

What’s Worth Visiting in Each Orange County, NY Town?
If you are visiting Orange County for the first time, the festival you choose often becomes your introduction to a neighborhood. Here is a quick orientation to the towns hosting summer events.
Warwick (10990) is a walkable village in southern Orange County with a downtown lined with independent restaurants, the Warwick Drive-In, and Warwick Valley Winery on the outskirts. The summer concert series at Railroad Green and Stanley-Deming Park brings free live music to the heart of town all season. If a Warwick weekend has you curious about living here, we work with buyers and sellers across 10990. Get a free Warwick home value estimate.
Goshen (10924) is the seat of Orange County and home to the Goshen Historic Track, the only continuously operating harness racing track in the United States. The Great American Weekend over July 4 fills Main Street with vendors and racing. Brian Caplicki sells homes across 10924. Ask us what a Goshen home goes for today.
Cornwall and Cornwall-on-Hudson (12518, 12520) sit at the foot of Storm King Mountain on the Hudson, with the Storm King Art Center sculpture park, the Black Rock Forest trails, and direct Metro-North access to NYC from nearby Salisbury Mills. Cornwall is one of the strongest commuter markets in the county. See what your Cornwall home is worth.
Newburgh (12550) is the Hudson waterfront city undergoing significant revival, with Safe Harbors Green, the Newburgh Brewing Company, and Washington’s Headquarters State Historic Site. The Independence Day fireworks at People’s Waterfront Park are among the largest in the Hudson Valley. Newburgh’s waterfront and East End historic district have very different price ranges. Ask us about 12550.
Middletown (10940) is the largest city in Orange County and home to the Orange County Fair every July and August. Touro College’s medical campus and a growing restaurant scene anchor the downtown. Middletown is home base for the Caplicki Home Team. We track 10940 listings daily.
Sugar Loaf (10981) is the historic artisan village in the Town of Chester, with working craftsperson studios, the Spring Festival in May, and the Fall Festival in October. Living in 10981 has a different rhythm than the rest of the county. Ask us what comes on the market here.
Greenwood Lake (10925) is the southern Orange County lakefront village with the Thomas P. Morahan Waterfront Park summer concert series and Fourth of July fireworks over the water. Lakefront listings in 10925 move fast. Set up an alert.
Florida (10921) sits in the Black Dirt Region, the rich farmland that produces the onions, lettuce, and herbs sold at farmers markets across the tri-state area. The Tuesday market on North Main Street runs through October. Black Dirt acreage is a distinct slice of the Orange County market. We can walk you through 10921.
Port Jervis (12771) is the tri-state corner where New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania meet at the Delaware River. America the Beautiful Festival anchors mid-June. 12771 has its own dynamics with the tri-state commute. Ask us what to expect.
